New Ford Super Duty Arrives Later in 2019 with Added Gas V8 Powertrain Option

Ford is constantly looking for ways to improve upon its wide array of new models. This sentiment rings true, especially among Ford trucks. Drivers expect their pickups to live up to the ever-evolving tasks that come their way -- Ford aims to produce trucks that can handle those tasks. That's clearly the case with the redesigned Ford Super Duty series that's set to arrive later this year.

Later in 2019, Ford will deliver its new F-Series Super Duty trucks to dealerships like Helfman Ford. Unveiled recently at the Chicago Auto Show, the new Super Duty promises a ground-up redesign with new chassis components, new styling, a new interior, and updates to the available powertrains.

The skeleton of the Super Duty will be all new, using 98.5 percent high-strength steel in its ladder-frame design. A high-strength aluminum body will sit on top, just like the current generation. The addition of stronger axles intends to improve towing and payload capacity.

Most of the news around the new truck, however, revolves around the new engine option. Ford has added an all-new gas powertrain to the Super Duty range. It's currently the largest gasoline V8 offered in a heavy-duty truck, clocking in at 7.3 liters. The 6.8-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel remains, but it's been re-tuned by Ford for better performance. The same goes for the stalwart 6.2-liter gas V8.

There's a lot to get excited about regarding the upcoming new Super Duty trucks, and you test them out when they arrive later in 2019. In the meantime, visit our inventory to check out our current 2019 Super Duty selection!
