Design
Depending on your purpose, there's a Ford Super Duty that's designed to meet your needs. For instance, F-250 models come with a single rear wheel and can be purchased in Regular Cab, Crew Cab, or Super Cab offerings. While the F-350 is also offered in Regular, Crew, or Super Cab configurations, it can come with either a single or dual rear wheel. Meanwhile, the F-450 is available with dual rear wheels, and only as a Regular Cab or Crew Cab. Finally, the F-250 and F-350 can be outfitted with either a 6.75-foot or 8-foot bed; the F-450 comes with an 8-foot bed.
Performance
The Ford Super Duty can be equipped with either of two engines, beginning with the standard 6.2-liter V8 engine that pairs to a six-speed automatic transmission to produce 385 horsepower and a best-in-class 430 pound-feet of torque. F-450 models, as well as Limited trim versions of the F-250 and F-350, come with a standard 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 turbo diesel engine that delivers class-leading 450 horsepower and 935 pound-feet of torque.
If you regularly haul equipment around the greater Houston area, you know how essential it is to have a pickup that's capable of the job. The F-250 has a maximum payload capacity of 4,270 pounds and is rated to tow up to 18,500 pounds. The F-350 has a max towing capacity of 32,000 pounds and offers a best-in-class payload capability of 7,640 pounds. The F-450 comes with a maximum payload rating of 6,190 pounds and a class-leading towing capability of up to 35,00 pounds.
Trim Levels
All three Super Duty models are offered in six trim levels:
- XL: Sugar Land TX drivers will be pleased to know that the introductory-level Super Duty includes the modern touches you want, like automatic headlights, variable-speed intermittent wipers, hill start assist, AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™, tire pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera, and dynamic hitch assist.
- XLT: takes the XL features and tacks on chrome bumpers and grille, power windows and locks, SiriusXM® satellite radio, and a class-exclusive BoxLink™ system that features locking cleats.
- Lariat: comes with power-adjustable pedals, leather-trimmed 10-way power-adjustable front seats, the state-of-the-art 8-inch SYNC® 3 infotainment system, and power-telescoping and folding trailer tow mirrors.
- King Ranch: the front seats are kitted out with Kingsville leather trim and get heating and cooling upgrades, and a "Running W" logo is found throughout. This model also boasts voice-activated navigation with SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link® to help you make your way through Richmond TX congestion.
- Platinum: features standard LED lights up front and in the back, while polished aluminum wheels, chrome, and satin-aluminum exterior accents add a dash of flair. You'll find it easier to stay in command of you're your truck and your trailer, thanks to adaptive steering and BLIS® with trailer-tow coverage.
- Limited: this is the top-of-the-line Super Duty trim, boasting the 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel engine, all amenities already mentioned, class-exclusive power-deployable running boards, and a Trailer Tow Camera System.
